2008 Year of the Frog
The Zoological Society and Assiniboine Park Zoo are participating in the world wide amphibian education and conservation project called: Year of the Frog.

The Zoological Society of Manitoba's Education Department seasonal spring and summer camps are toadly sold out and full of frog fun.

Schools and youth groups can get in the frog festivities by registering for our brand new school program and guided based on frogs and toads.

New interpretive signs will soon be seen throughout the zoo highlighting many of Manitoba's rare and unknown amphibians.

We will also be featuring frogs, the world's fastest disappearing group of animals, at our 13th annual Boo at the Zoo.

Threats to amphibians (frogs, toads, salamanders, newts and caecilians):

  • Pollution
  • Climate change
